Sophia Loren, 84, Undergoes Astonishing Transformation for New Movie Role

Hollywood legend Sophia Loren has been pictured while acting in a new movie looking very different from how she usually does.

The Life Before Us is the Italian title of the movie, and the 84-year-old actress is confined to a wheelchair for her role.

She was spotted filming in Bari, Italy, wearing a red dress with a gold floral pattern and a red shawl or oversized scarf covering it. With her messy hair, she hardly looked like herself.

For the premiere of her son Edoardo Ponti’s new film, which stars the celebrity, large audiences flocked to the theater.

Loren portrays a woman who takes care of the children of prostitutes in the Romain Gary novel-to-film adaptation.

According to reports, she will also shoot scenes at the Pane e Pomodoro beach and on the San Nicola pier over the course of the upcoming month. The production is scheduled to wrap up in August.

This will be Loren’s first film appearance since she provided non-English speaking countries with a character’s voice for Cars 2 in 2014. Despite producing a one-woman short called La Voce Umana, however.

The actress, who is a last surviving star of Hollywood’s Golden Age, began her film career in 1950 at the age of just 16 years old.

After agreeing to a five-picture deal with Paramount in 1956, which landed her parts in movies like It Started in Naples, The Pride and the Passion, and Houseboat, her career took off.

She won the Oscar for her work in Two Women in 1962, making her the first actress to do so for a foreign-language performance.

In addition, she has received recognition from the Venice and Cannes Film Festivals, five special Golden Globes, a BAFTA, and a Grammy Award.

In 2016, she commented on aging in Hollywood to W magazine, saying, “You are always amazed. Actually, I didn’t think I’d live to be 80 when I was 20; you do. “.
