Joan Harrison, the mother of famous Pawn Stars member Rick Harrison, has filed a civil lawsuit against her son and his related businesses.
The lawsuit centers on a dispute over the assets and properties of a Las Vegas company featured in the reality show. Harrison’s attorney filed a civil lawsuit in Nevada court naming his mother, himself, Gold & Silver Lombardy, Harrison Properties and JoRich Properties as defendants, according to court documents.
Rick Harrison, son of the late Richard Harrison, known as ‘The Old Man’ on TV show Pawn Stars, has denied allegations he abused his 81-year-old mother Joanna. She was married to her husband for 58 years before his death, according to the breach of contract suit filed against her.
Rick was accused of putting too much pressure on Rick to give up his pawn shop stake while he was hospitalized in 2000 or 2001. Despite these accusations, Rick is convinced they are false and unfounded.
The History Channel aired a segment in 2009 in which the family’s nephew, Richard Corey Harrison, and close friend Austin “Chumley” Russell visited the pawn shop. Joan Harrison acquired Richard’s 49% stake in the company after his death in 2018. On the other hand, Rick Harrison has yet to provide any specific financial information about the company. Additionally, Joanne said she will never get a full accounting of the more than $500,000 in cash and silver her husband amassed before his death.
So he’s asking for actual damages, demanding that Rick keep his hands out of his money, and placing all of Joan’s assets into a trust.
