At 15, the woman discovered she had a tumor on her leg, but decided to ignore it. The 27-year-old knows the truth.
Cheryl Murray didn’t think it was a big deal, but her tumor continued to grow until it was the size of a golf ball.
When she finally found her first boyfriend, she asked him about his foot problem. Even though she lied at the time, David insisted on taking her to the doctor.
The hospital ran a series of tests, and the results were dire. The young woman appears to have suffered from a rare form of cancer called sarcoma. She admitted:
“I had no idea it would be so scary. I laughed when I found out about it. I was so shocked I couldn’t even speak. »
The bad news was that the disease progressed so badly that the leg had to be amputated below the knee. The 27-year-old’s boyfriend was always by her side. He even asked her to marry him before the amputation because he wanted her to know how much she loved him and would always be by his side.
Now he admits that he says every day that he can’t imagine what would have happened without him. Murray now uses prosthetics to help him cope and said he doesn’t regret not seeing a doctor sooner. Why? Legs or not, he’s happy now.
