Imagine receiving a hefty $10,000 bonus just for being dedicated to your job and never missing a day of work. That’s exactly what happened to Coolie Baz, an employee at his KFC restaurant in Macon, Georgia. Cooley’s dedication to his job has paid off, and he now plans to use his bonus money to support his family and take care of his car.
Cooley worked tirelessly for about 30 years, working eight hours a day, five days a week at KFC. He learned the ins and outs of fryers and the fast food industry. But his responsibilities go beyond just providing food. Local media WMAZ reported this heartwarming story on December 31, 2021.
Branch manager Christina Brady said Cooley did not receive the bonus directly. Instead, all of the employees who worked there each day entered a lottery, and Cooley was lucky enough to be selected as the winner. His dedication and work ethic stand out from his peers, and his managers praise him for his outstanding work performance. Corey is not the kind of person to ask for help.
He is responsible for overseeing the process and comes to work every day with unwavering commitment. When Cooley told her mother the news, her mother couldn’t believe it at first and thought she was joking. Now that Cooley has won this great award, he plans to give his family a well-deserved vacation and do some much-needed maintenance on his car.
However, his loyalty extends beyond his immediate family. He considers his KFC colleagues an extension of his family. He values their strong bond and says: We come together, support each other, and everyone feels at home. His advice to young people starting their careers at KFC is to work hard, save money and see what opportunities open up in the long term.
Unlike Mr. Cooley’s lavish bonus, another longtime employee, Kevin Ford, celebrated his 27th birthday at Burger King with a less lavish gift. He received a Reese’s bag, several tubes of candy, two pens, a reusable Starbucks cup, and movie tickets. Kevin appreciated the gesture, but humorously pointed out that the gift looked like “something they had lying around.” While each company may have its own way of recognizing employees, it’s clear that Khoury’s dedication to his work at KFC is truly paying off in an incredible way.
