Stranger Things fans were surprised when Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven on the hit Netflix series, hinted at her engagement to boyfriend Jake Bongiovi. You may notice that Jake bears a striking resemblance to her famous rock star father, Jon Bon Jovi. Let’s find out more about Jake Bongiovi!
Engaged to Millie Bobby Brown
Jake Bongiovi was reportedly engaged to 19-year-old Millie Bobby Brown when he was 20 years old. The couple has been dating since 2021, and although some fans were surprised by the news, they seem to be deeply in love with each other. Jake shared adorable photos of the two on Instagram, one of which he captioned “Forever,” while Millie shared a photo of herself with a Taylor Swift lyric expressing her love for Jake.
During the interview, Millie revealed that they first met and became friends on Instagram before any romance blossomed. The couple made their red carpet debut at the 2022 BAFTA Awards.
Jon Bon Jovi’s Son
Although Millie Bobby Brown is more widely known, Jake Bongiovi comes from show biz royalty as the son of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi. It’s hard not to see the resemblance between Jake and his famous dad when you compare their photos. Jon Bon Jovi and his wife, Dorothea Hurley, have been married since 1989 and have four children together.
Jake is the third oldest among his siblings, Stephanie Rose, Jesse, and Romeo. He has shown a passion for activism and made headlines during high school for organizing a walkout to protest against school shootings. Jake attended Poly Prep Country Day School, where he also played football.
After high school, Jake enrolled at Syracuse University. His proud parents even helped him move in on his first day. Although he didn’t return for his sophomore year, Jake has been pursuing his dreams in the entertainment industry.
Aspiring Actor
Though his father is known as a rock star, Jake is aiming for a career in acting, and although he has yet to make his debut, he already has two projects in development. He appeared in the HBO Max film, The Lovers, which wrapped production in August 2022. Additionally, Jake also appeared in the comedy film, Rockbottom, which is about a hair metal band. He will play Justin, a rookie singer who must overcome his stage fright to return the group to its former glory.
