Exclusive: Hugh Jackman’s Wife Breaks Silence After Announcing Split.

In a surprising development, Deborra-Lee Furness, 67, has broken her silence after the recent announcement of her separation from husband Hugh Jackman, 54, following 27 years of marriage. The couple had made their split official earlier this month but had kept details private.

However, an accidental phone call by Australian radio hosts provided Furness with an unexpected moment to address the situation publicly for the first time.

The incident unfolded when radio personalities Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson mistakenly dialed Furness’ number during their broadcast. Realizing their error, Sandilands swiftly assured Furness, “We actually called you by mistake, it’s ridiculous. Seriously, this isn’t a stitch-up.” Henderson added, “We didn’t mean to actually call you. But now you’re here, we won’t go into it. We love you, we hope you’re well.”

Graciously responding, Furness said, “Thank you guys, I really appreciate it. You’re really sweet.” Sandilands, cautious about the situation, commented, “I just feel it’s too soon. I don’t want to get involved in anything. But we love you, and you ring us when you want to chat.” Furness, filled with gratitude, replied, “Thank you, guys. I really, really appreciate it,” before concluding the call.

Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness had been married since 1996 and are parents to two adopted children—a 23-year-old son named Oscar and an 18-year-old daughter named Ava. Their relationship, which began on the set of an Australian TV show in 1995 and led to marriage a year later, came to a mutual decision to separate, as revealed in a statement to People magazine on September 15, 2023.

“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,” the statement read. It emphasized that their family remains their top priority and requested respect for their privacy during this period of transition.

Signed jointly by Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness, the statement concluded that it would be their only official comment on the matter.
