Two years ago, Brady discovered that police dogs often lack bulletproof vests, which struck a chord with him while watching Live PD with his mom, Leah Tornabene. Witnessing these K-9s in potentially perilous situations without adequate protection deeply moved Brady.
Driven by a sense of injustice, Brady took immediate action. He launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise donations for purchasing bulletproof vests for police dogs. By February 2018, Brady had gathered enough funds to provide the first four vests to Ohio State Troopers. This marked the beginning of his impactful journey.
Brady poured his heart and soul into his cause. He reached out to local lawmakers for support and tirelessly spread awareness to garner more backing for his mission. As a result, Brady’s K9 Fund evolved into a nonprofit organization committed to funding protective vests for police and military dogs.
To date, Brady’s K9 Fund has equipped 257 dogs with life-saving vests and raised an impressive $315,000. It’s truly astounding what this young hero has accomplished. Leah Tornabene, speaking to CNN, expressed her pride, saying, “I was quite amazed that at the age of eight, Brady recognized an issue and found a solution to address it.”
