Ronan Keating has paid tribute to his older brother Ciaran Keating after the tragic death of Ciaran Keating in a car accident last week.
A terrible car accident in Ireland left the Boyzone singer’s sibling injured and passed away at age 57. Rumors have it that Ciaran was traveling with his wife, Annemarie, to see their 28-year-old son, Ruair, play football for Cork City FC.
Thursday’s funeral service for Ciaran took place at St. Louisburgh, County Mayo’s St. Patrick’s Church. According to the MailOnline, Ronan performed This Is Your Song, a song that was originally composed in memory of his mother Marie, who passed away from cancer in 1998, as a tribute to his brother. According to reports, he said to the mourners, “I shouldn’t be singing it under these circumstances, but we are and we shall. ”.
The One Show host Ronan, 46, was one of the six pallbearers who carried his brother’s casket into the church before the service. Public figures, including Cork City FC players and likely friends and family members, came in close succession. Ronan’s wife Storm comforted him once they were inside.
On his way to his son’s football game, father-of-three Ciaran was killed in a collision in Swinford, County Mayo. His wife Annemarie was brought to the Mayo University Hospital for non-life-threatening medical care. On-site medical care was also given to the driver of the other car that was involved in the collision.
Soon after the tragic news became known, Cork City FC uploaded a memorial to Ciaran online. Ciaran Keating, the father of our player Ruair Keating, passed away, and Cork City FC expressed its “deep sorrow” at his passing.

Some of Ronan’s close friends and coworkers also sent condolences to Ciaran online. Fellow Boyzone member Keith Duffy wrote on social media that he “couldn’t comprehend the loss and destruction experienced by my brother @rokeating and the entire Keating family. Right now, everyone in my family is praying for and thinking of the Keatings. ”.
Keith continued by talking about his own interactions with his bandmate’s older brother and how valuable he was in the beginning stages of the band. He wrote on Instagram, “Ciaran, you toured with us from the beginning, you were a great guide on our early journey.”.
