Nervous Teen’s Gospel Voice Fills the Room, and All Four Judges Press Their Buttons

A 19-year-old singer named Somer Smith was both thrilled and terrified to learn she had been selected to participate in The Voice: Australia blind auditions. She had only ever performed in front of her family before. She was about to perform live on national television in front of Boy George, Joe Jonas, Kelly Rowland, and Delta Goodrem, four well-known judges.

Even though she is terrified, Somer is determined to face her worries and follow her passion. During the pre-audition interview, all she wants to do is turn one of the judges’ chairs. She selected “His Eye Is on the Sparrow,” an dated gospel song written in 1905, for her audition. ”.

Somer enters the stage and appears to be nervous. She takes a moment to collect herself as the judges can sense her anxiety. Somer starts out hesitantly, but her voice soon grows louder and more confident.

The moment coach Delta Goodrem hears how strong and talented Somer’s voice is, she pushes the button to turn her chair. Boy George, Kelly Rowland, and Joe Jonas quickly turn their chairs in the same manner.

The audience starts cheering as Somer’s powerful voice fills the room. She clearly pours her soul and heart into her performance and completely loses herself in the song. The judges watch this young girl put everything on the line in almost awed fashion.

All four judges and audience members give Somer a standing ovation after she finishes her speech. In an effort to convince her to join their team, the judges all give her glowing recommendations and trade jabs.

We recently found a star in you, Delta tells her. ”.

Joe Jonas claims that “your voice is the reason I joined this show.”. “Your tone was lovely and quite assertive right away. ”.

After each judge has finished speaking, the audience claps in unison. She had hoped that just one judge would flip a chair for her, but all four did. Choosing was now necessary for her. Somer ultimately made the decision to join Team Kelly.
