The most vivacious toddler at the wedding is Pierson Mihelich, age 2.
When planning her ideal wedding, Kristie Mihelich could never have imagined that her son would end up being the focal point of the event.
After postponing their nuptials due to the coronavirus outbreak, Mihelich, 40, and Bobby, her husband, wed on April 22 in West Bloomfield, Michigan. They started as business partners but later became lovers.
God had really quick plans for us because we got pregnant, Mihelich told TODAY Parents. The parents declared that their son Pierson would always serve as the ring bearer.
As the wedding ceremony began, “Canon in D” began to play, and Pierson, age 2, joined his father at the altar as everyone waited in anticipation for the bride to appear.
As the doors opened and the groom wiped away a tear, little Pierson watched in amazement.
The young man became overexcited and lost control of himself.
While the audience laughed and cheered, Pierson yelled, “Hey, Mom!” and waved before running over to her.
Kirk and Pierson, who will turn 3 on May 4, ended up walking down the aisle with Mihelich.
The experience, according to Mihelich, was “the sweetest thing on the entire planet. I was so happy with my marriage that I could have easily left at that point.
When it came to Pierson’s actions on the big day, Mihelich acknowledged to TODAY that she was initially confused.
She had her brother-in-law take him outside and take a walk because he had been screaming bloody murder throughout the rehearsal dinner the previous evening. He never got a chance to practice, so to speak, walking down the aisle.
Samantha Mihelich, the niece of the couple, uploaded a video of the incident—which has since gone viral—to TikTok, where it has received over 950,000 views.
Aware of the recording, Mihelich is grateful.
The woman said, “My brother-in-law was so excited and he jumped right in front of the camera while it was happening,” adding that the videographer was unable to capture the event well on film. That it could be downloaded to the iPhone made me extremely grateful.
According to Mihelich, Pierson’s “energy” on the day of her wedding set the tone for the entire evening.
I couldn’t have planned it any other way, and I wouldn’t want it any other way,” Mihelich said of her son. His father loved it too, to be so priceless and sweet for his mother.
