Sara Lee, who won 2015’s reality challenge WWE Tough Enough, tragically died aged just thirty.
Her mom revealed the devastating news last October.
Fans have been left completely shocked, with many sharing their tributes on social media.
One fan tweeted: “Sending Westin Blake and their children all the love in the world. This news about Sara Lee hurts my soul so much. I wish this wasn’t true.”
Another fan added: “RIP Sara Lee. Way too young.”
The wrestling world has been hit hard by her sudden death, with WWE paying tribute to the star…
They wrote: “WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of Sara Lee. As a former “Tough Enough” winner, Lee served as an inspiration to many in the sports-entertainment world. WWE offers its heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and fans.”
Nikki A.S.H. added: ‘You were so good in so many ways. You loved your family and friends so much. you were so giving, warm and selfless. You made me giggle. No matter how long we went without seeing each other, we would always pick up right where we left. I love you Sara.’
And Alexa Bliss tweeted: “We love you Sara. So heartbreaking. Please keep Cory & their family in your thoughts and prayers.”
Fellow wrestler Bayley said: “In wrestling, people that you didn’t know yesterday can become the ones you spend every day with for years.
“Even if that changes for whatever reason, there’s forever a bond. A family. I’m thinking of EVERYONE during this time. I hope Sara & the Weston family feels our hearts.”
One of Sara’s friends also wrote on Twitter: “My heart is absolutely broken. I am lost for words and I am still in absolute shock. I love you and will miss you eternally Sara Lee.”
While another commented: “This is heartbreakingly tragic. Sending love to her family. Very sweet human who I got the pleasure to know and work with. RIP Sara Lee.”
It’s clear Sara made a huge impact on so many lives.
Sara started out with a passion for powerlifting before entering the world of wrestling.
But she quickly found love for the sport and applied to WWE’s show Tough Enough back in 2015.
Sara went on to win the sixth season.
Her impressive achievement landed her a contract with the company.
After winning $250,000 and a 1-year contract with WWE, she made her debut at an NXT event in January 2016.
At NXT she worked alongside the likes of Billie Kay, IIconics, and Peyton Royce.
Sara also worked with Liv Morgan and the star of SmackDown, Aliyah.
Which is an impressive feat.
Before her contract came to an end with WWE, she entered the ring with Liv against Billie and Peyton.
And has continued to train even after her release.
In 2017 she married the love of her life.
She tied the knot with former WWE wrestler Wesley Blake on December 30.
The pair share 3 children together.
They welcomed their daughter Piper into the world on May 1, 2017, followed by their son Brady, who was born on February 27, 2019, and their second son was born in 2021.
Just a day before her tragic death, Sara posted to Instagram.
And what she said was heartbreaking.
In the post on October 5, she shared a selfie of herself in the gym…
She wrote: ‘Celebrating finally being healthy enough to go to the gym 2 days in a row. First ever sinus infection kicked my butt.’
Just a day later, the devastating news of Sara’s death was shared by her mom on Facebook.
In the heartbreaking post, she asked for space so her family could mourn in peace, and also explained her daughter has “gone to be with Jesus.”
She wrote:
“It is with heavy hearts we wanted to share that our Sara Weston has gone to be with Jesus. We are all in shock and arrangements are not complete.
“We ask that you respectfully let our family mourn. We all need prayers, especially Cory and her children.”
Her post has since received hundreds of comments from loved ones wanting to share their support.
And a GoFundMe has since been set up to help pay her funeral costs.
Amazingly, other wrestlers and fans of Sara have already raised over $60,000 on GoFundMe.
Her cause of death has now been announced.
It’s been revealed that the star died by suicide.
Our thoughts are with Lee’s friends and family.
May she rest in peace.
