Every now and then, little things can improve someone’s day. Every day in the late afternoon when the school bus is coming from the opposite direction, one grandmother experiences this situation.
Sandy Reichart, a retired teacher, recorded the routine event on camera and uploaded it to Instagram with the caption, “Up at my mom’s again today. Every time the elementary school bus travels by her house, this happens. This makes my mother’s day happier.
Some of the kids can even be seen opening their windows to greet you if you look closely. The grandmother also makes sure to be in her yard to greet them as they drive past it in the car.
When you see so much joy in such a short period of time, it’s difficult to hold back from smiling. Everyone gets into the act, even the bus driver, who honks their horn as they pass.
This brief conversation teaches us something. A simple hello can have a significant impact on someone else’s life.
These kids and this woman have a lot to teach us. Kindness spreads like wildfire. By taking a brief moment to wave to their grandmother, those kids brighten both their own and her day.
Throughout the day, spend some time lifting up others. Do everything you are capable of doing. Even though it won’t take long, for someone else, it might be the deciding factor.
