One of the most enduring relationships that most people will ever have is that between siblings. Sadly, these two siblings were separated for three and a half years.
While Tre and Ke’lynn were in the custody of child protective services, they spent the entire time in different foster homes. The brothers would get together once a month, but all they desired was to live together once more.
Sadly, Ke’lynn and Tre’s story is not as unique as it might seem. Because they are kept apart from their siblings, a lot of children in foster care feel as though they have lost a part of themselves. Tre, the younger sibling, admitted in an interview that he wishes she could see him every day. ”.
When people across the nation were moved by the siblings’ story, one doctor, Dr. Robert Beck, had a profound reaction to their predicament. Dr. Beck told WFAA that she “felt an instant connection with the boys” and that she needed to figure out a way to invite them over so she could get to know them better.
While Tre and Ke’lynn lived with Dr. Beck, adoption proceedings were ongoing. That changed one day when Dr. Robert Beck drove Ke’lynn and Tre to the courthouse.
The brothers initially thought they were at the courthouse to take pictures, but Dr. Beck had a surprise in store for them. That day was Adoption Day. The forever home that Tre and Ke’lynn have found.
The news broke to the brothers, who cried and embraced their new father. Giving them a forever home and knowing that they will always be mine is just so wonderful, said Dr. Beck. I treasure them. with everything I have.
