Legendary TV host Kathie Lee Gifford, known for her outspoken and outgoing personality, recently stepped back from the limelight after a period of silence. The loss of her husband, Frank Gifford, and the death of her mother, Joan Epstein, forced her to seek solace and healing. Now, in a candid interview, Gifford opens up about her sources of strength during these difficult times.
It’s something most of us might have doubted: his unwavering faith in God. In the interview, Gifford bravely shared deep thoughts about loss, loneliness and the power of faith. She described the heartbreaking moment when she heard the news that her husband had died in August 2015. Instead of giving in to her grief, she focused on believing that Frank was now in heaven.
“One beautiful Sunday morning, I found out my husband had gone to heaven. He saw Jesus and Jesus took his breath away,” Gifford said. After her husband’s death, Gifford turned to her mother for help. But two years later he also tragically lost his mother. With her children living far away, Gifford faced a new level of loneliness she had never experienced before.
“The biggest struggle in my life is loneliness,” she said. “I lost my parents, I have no husband and my children live far away from me. I still live in that big house that holds billions of memories. And there are times when loneliness is widespread.”
Gifford’s openness about her faith in this excellent interview is truly inspiring. Let’s pray together that she can continue to navigate life with grace and resilience.
