Kelly Clarkson has secured another significant victory in her ongoing divorce case with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. Brandon, who was not only her husband and the father of their two children but also her manager, has been found to have taken millions of dollars from her during his tenure.
Recent documents obtained by TMZ reveal that a judge has ruled Brandon owes Kelly over $2.6 million in unlawfully collected booking commissions. Despite his role as her manager, only agents are legally entitled to earn commissions from their clients. The documents further disclose that Brandon pocketed more than $1.98 million in commissions from Kelly’s role as a coach on The Voice.
Brandon is now appealing the judge’s decision, but neither his team nor Kelly’s has made a statement regarding this specific legal matter. Nevertheless, Kelly can celebrate this win in court as she continues to navigate through her divorce.
Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock have officially finalized their divorce proceedings. The settlement includes various terms both parties agreed upon. Kelly will make a one-time payment of over $1.3 million to Brandon, in addition to monthly child support payments of $45,601 for their two children, River Rose (7) and Remington Alexander (5). The child support payments commenced in February.
Both Kelly and Brandon have agreed to joint custody of their children, with the majority of their time spent with Kelly at her Los Angeles home. Reflecting the current reality, the children will be vaccinated against COVID-19 due to the expected travel between Kelly’s home and Brandon’s Montana ranch.
Kelly will retain ownership of both properties in Montana. Brandon will pay $2,000 per month to live in one of the properties until June, after which the agreement expires. Additionally, Kelly will be responsible for paying spousal support to Brandon amounting to $115,000 per month until January 31, 2024.
Regarding the division of assets, Kelly will receive various vehicles, including a Ford Bronco, a Ford F-250, and a Porsche Cayenne.
She will also be awarded the family pets and an interesting addition – a flight simulator. Brandon, on the other hand, will take ownership of farm cattle, livestock, stock dogs, horses, and several vehicles, including a Ford F-350, a Ford F-250, an ATV, and several CAT snowmobiles. He will also keep luxury Patek Philippe watches and a golf simulator.
Kelly filed for divorce from Brandon in June 2020 after being married for seven years. In July 2021, she requested to be declared legally divorced, stating that both she and Brandon deserved the opportunity to start fresh. She was officially declared legally single in August of that year.
It has undoubtedly been a long and arduous journey for Kelly during her divorce proceedings. However, she has remained open and transparent with her fans, sharing her experiences and showing what it means to move forward with grace. Divorce is a difficult process, but with her strength and candor, Kelly has become an inspiration to many.
