This is why Rep. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo. It has now been made public that (a) threw away a pin honoring a young victim of the Uvalde, Texas school shooting moments after receiving it.

The pin was an exact replica of the green Converse shoes that Maite Rodriguez, 10, was wearing when she was fatally shot. The family of Maite was able to find her body after she passed away thanks to those shoes.

In a video shared by the PatriotTakes account on Twitter, Boebert expressed regret for “the appearance” of “disrespecting a child” by tossing the pin into the trash, but she attributed her behavior to using AirPods and said the man who gave her the pin had previously approached her “aggressively.”.

Boebert said, “I recognized him as a man who came at me quite forcefully just a few weeks prior during a press appearance. He handed me what turned out to be a memorial pin. Despite my attempts to explain that I was on the move and wearing AirPods, the man persisted. He was so combative that after being apprehended by another member, Capitol Police officers detained him.

Boebert claims that she wanted to “make it very clear that I did not want to receive anything that this man had to give, nor did I know what he was handing me. ”.

She went on to say that she had been “very vocal” about the shooting in Uvalde and that she had thrown the pin away without any ill will.

The activist Jake Burdett, who was expelled from a press conference by Rep. Boebert, is confused with him. Clay Higgins, a Republican from Louisiana. According to Elijah Pelton, the activist who gave Boebert the pin, Boebert received the pin in May for voicing concerns about his divorce.
