It’s incredible how time flies, especially when we think about Macaulay Culkin. Most of us remember him as the mischievous kid from the Home Alone movies. But now, in his 40s, Culkin is making headlines for a different reason – fatherhood.
Despite leading a private life, it’s hard to keep a new arrival in the family under wraps. Culkin and his fiancee, Brenda Song (34), welcomed their second child, Carson, around Christmas. Surprisingly, not many people even knew about the pregnancy until now.
Culkin and Song are already proud parents to Dakota, named after Culkin’s late sister who passed away in 2008. Even Dakota’s birth came as a surprise to many, as the couple kept it a secret until sharing their overwhelming joy in a statement later on.
Their love story began in 2017, and shortly after Dakota’s birth, they got engaged. Song expressed her disbelief at the beautiful relationship, saying she cherishes every moment spent with Culkin. He, on the other hand, admitted waiting for the other shoe to drop, only to realize he had found something truly special.
When it comes to parenting, both Culkin and Song are very hands-on. They prefer to support each other as a family rather than relying on a nanny. Of course, Brenda’s mother has been there to assist them since Dakota’s birth, but they take pride in doing it together.
Communication is key for the couple. Song highlighted how crucial it is to openly communicate and bond with each other while sharing parenting duties. She revealed, “Especially in the first few months after having kids, being polite may have to take a back seat. Being able to ask for help and talk things through is crucial. We don’t stick to set duties; we just support each other intuitively.”
Many people believed that Culkin would never pursue another romantic relationship following his split in 2017. However, fate had other plans. Brenda entered his life during the filming of Changeland, and their shared experience as child stars helped them form a unique bond, understanding the challenges they faced in their younger years.
It warms our hearts to see Culkin find love again and witness the loving and supportive parents they have become. They truly are an inspiration, showing us that even child stars can find happiness and fulfillment in their own families.
