Shaq recently surprised a family of 11 from Texas known as the “Collins Kids” with a life-changing trip. Chak believes in the power of good deeds and has vowed to do at least one good deed every time he steps out of the house.
It is no wonder that his good deeds often spread on the Internet and enter the hearts of many people. On Feb. 23, Collins shared a story on her Instagram page about how her child’s mother, Carissa Shaq, helped the family. It all started with dinner at Babe’s Chicken where Shaq treated them to delicious food and they had a blast. But Shak’s kindness didn’t stop there.
The next day, he took his family to a Mercedes-Benz dealership and surprised them with a new 15-passenger van. The Collins kids had outgrown their 12-passenger van, and the air conditioning wasn’t always reliable. This generous gift of time was an especially great blessing to Carissa, who was expecting another child. You’ll need to book and arrange a bus, but it’s worth the wait. The new van will be released in July!
Karissa’s husband, Mandra Collins, works as a manager at a Mercedes-Benz store in Fort Worth and plays for the Harlem Globetrotters. So it’s safe to say that Shaq’s surprise meant even more to the family.
After the van surprise, Shaq Collins took the kids to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner, where he once again demonstrated his incredible generosity. Shark paid for the entire meal, not realizing that several tables were occupied by visiting missionaries. That day, he heard that the waiter’s car broke down and left him a large $1,000 bill. Shaq’s kindness knows no bounds.
But Shak didn’t forget Mandra either. He noticed that Mandra’s truck had been parked for some time without air conditioning or heating. So he took the family to the Ford store and bought Mandra a new truck! It was a gesture that showed how much Shaq cares not just about material gifts, but also about improving the overall well-being of those he helps. Beyond his material blessings, Shaq Collins gifted his children with something even more precious. He gave them time, encouragement and love. Carissa shared how Shaq spent time with his family and loved and supported his children. His kind words and positive energy were invaluable.
When asked how she met Shaq, Carissa explained that their connection started on Instagram. Shaq reached out a few months ago and sent videos to the kids, saying he loved watching them and even offered to be “Uncle Shaq.” Karisa grew up watching Shaq’s plays and her kids were fans of his commercials and movies, so she happily accepted his offer.
It was Carissa’s birthday while Shaq was in town, so he stopped by to wish her a good day. Carissa described the experience as “surreal” and expressed her gratitude for the love and care Shaq showed his family. It was a day they will never forget as he played with them, gave them words of encouragement, took pictures and gave them gifts.
